Blue legged hermit??????

Hey Guys need some help here.

When I got up this morning and took a look at my fish tank I found two legs of my Blue legged hermit on the sand.
What could have happened?
Is he going to die now?
Do I have to remove him from the tank?

Most likely a molt. Look around and in other shells, he is probably there somewhere.
You can leave them, they will be disposed of by the clean up crew.

When they shed their exoskeleton. This happens as they grow.
