chili sponge stopped opening

Hi, my little chili sponge has stopped opening at night to feed. He is now showing some filamentous algae growing on him as well. He seemd to do fine for almost a month now. I gingerly removed as much algae as i could, placed him in a darker spot in the tank and am hoping for the best. Any advise? Thnx

I'm surprised no one has replied to me! Can't anyone offer any help on this topic??? Still has not opened to feed but does not look any worse.

How long have you had it? It needs medium to strong current I've read. What and how often do you feed it?
