I got my elegance coral on Halloween and it started producing alot of mucus after the first couple days I had it. Then it looked like it was being taken over by some white stringy stuff, and not opening up very much. Now over half the coral is gone, like it just dried up underwater.

Should I take it out right away, even though almost half of it is still left?
Is it releasing stuff in my tank, I seem to be having more algea than normal right now?

All other corals/fish are fine, water is normal...any ideas????

Thanks

Elegance corals do not fair well.. Most likely due to too clean of water... But who knows.. Most of the specimens now from what I understand are Deep water as most of the old ones are more shallow water.. I would just watch it and pray for the best Imo
