I have a large green star polyp and green hair algae started growing on it. The polyps no longer come out. What can I do about this?

Pull it out. A peroxide dip with a light scrub from a toothbrush will make sure it doesn't grow back, unless there is more in the tank of course.

Find the reason you have Hair Algae in the tank.
Testing for phosphates and nitrates.
Sea Hare will make quick work of your HA.
Peroxide dip will get rid of it, for the time being, unless you find and fix the problem, it will surely come back.

Snails or algae eaters. What I do is take it out and use tooth brush on it softy. Then let my clears dovthe rest. Of course it also means I need to change my media in GFO
