Got this frog spawn about a week ago but I don't know why it's not opening. Maybe still getting use to my tank? Also not sure if Xenia is getting too much flow or it's just getting used to the tank. Btw got this Cora two days ago as my polyps and they are opened.

What are your tank parameters?

Lighting?

What kind of SW mix are you using ? Are you using RO, RO/DI water or tap?

Do you see any bugs crawling around on them?

I used the premixed saltwater from my lfs. So I don't think I have to worry about tank parameters. I am using stock light for bio cube.

I have not owned one but I have heard there are growth issues Biocube light.

Is it a new light/set up or new to you, used? Which size tank

What do you use for evaporation refill water?

How often do you do pwc and how much?

What are the tank parameters??? Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, PH, tank temp., Salinity?

I got the thank used but changed my bulbs and it's 29 gallons.

Rodi water for top off.

I changed my water 2 weeks ago and gonna do one this Friday.

Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are fine.
PH: 8.1 ish
Temp: 79
Salinity is fine too. Can't remember the number lol but I checked two days ago.

Got it. I have a hard time seeing the pics anyway.

How high up is it in the tank and is there moderate flow?

No bugs? tiny? Maybe need a magnifying glass with the blue lights on?

Any neighboring more aggressive corals?

I wonder about the light and about the nutrients.

The hammer coral is on the tallest rock.

I have two hydor koralia one on the back right corner and one on the front left corner. Both are 240g

No aggressive corals either

Maybe cut back one powerhead for a day and see how it is feeling.

Medium flow. Those 2 on that sized tank, maybe too much?

Move the temp down a degree or 2 if that doesn't work.

I would do a pwc, of around 25% 3 weeks is a long time. The corals can use up minerals.

I will keep you updated! And thanks for the help.

you buy premixed salt water , that's more the reason you need to check it

stock lighting well theirs your problem

what are all your parameter levels
ph , alk, cal, nitrate , nitrite, ammonia, temp , salinity , ect

How does alk and cal affect them? I am new to reef so I am not good with any reef parameters.

just part of the questions asked when when asking for parameters of a reef every salt mix contains calcium some high some low your alk comes in with air gas exchange from circulation you want to aim for a alk level of 8 to 12
calcium your trying to keep it steady at around 500
your other parameters your looking to keep them stable
Ph 8.0 to 8.4
nitrite 0
nitrate 0 to 20 in a reef closer to zero the better
for a FOWLR it's a little different 0 to 40 closer to 20 is best
ammonia 0 is the goal
phosphate 0 is best anything over 5 is looking for trouble with algae growth
salinity 1.021 to 1.026 I stay between 1.024 and 1.026
this link can provide yo with a better understanding of why your parameters are important
getting to know your ideal parameter levels

Do I need to dose anything to keep my parameters then?

There is no need to dose a tank to keep parameters like calcium and alkalinity in check under most situations. It has to be a very full system to pull enough out of the water column to where water changes can't keep up with the draw of coral growth.

no you don't your water changes should do a lot of it , that was one reason I asked if you checked your water , the only time you would need to dose is if you get heavy into sps basically wall to wall coral when more minerals are needed , you would have a long way to go before that so nothing to worry about ,
what are your plans on lighting stock lighting isn't capable of keeping coral
have you checked salinity premix may vary sometimes high sometimes low
you need to invest in a test kit so you can see whats going on in your tank .

I am waiting to order my rodi system then I will be changing my water every week like 30 percent. I am also considering to buy Chinese led or maybe used led on other forum. Can't decide what to do on lighting.
