How long before ICH....

I have had my fish for about two months. I was looking at some pic of fish w/ICH. My Blue Devil has one or two small white spots on his tail for the whole time I've had him. No more have appeared (sorry for no pic, still working on practicing taking them) and nothing on any of the other fish.
My questions are (and I am assuming it depends on H2O conditions):
1. How fast does it spread on a fish/to other fish?
2. Could this just be a spot?
He is eating great and not having other problems. I am thinking it is not Ich...Any suggestions would be great....

It is possible that they are just some type of discoloration. Ich can spread to your other fish very quickly. As little as hours depending on conditions I would think.

I would say just keep an eye on him...cycle up the QT just in case.

LOL, cool. Actually, the spots are so small I can't even see them in a pic...

They look like grains of salt. After they have been on the fish for a while they will fall off and over 200 little tomites will come out and start the cycle over. Keep a close eye out.
