What causes ick? I have been told that over feeding can cause ick. Also ive been told that it was caused by stress. When a fish is stressed it secretes an oil from its body and it attracts the ick to attach to the fish. So what is your experience with ick.
And what do you do in a reef aquarium when this happens?

Wow, that is a good article. Thank you. I have 2 fish that have ick, I don't have the money to set up a hospital tank. I have 6 other fish. Along with hermit crabs, snails and cleaner shrimp, zoas and kenya tree. I guess I should just wait it out and hope my other fish survive. If I was able to set up a hospital tank, would I have to cycle it first?

You can take the filter media from your main tank and use it to seed the qt tank. Check petland if you have one sometimes they have a dollar a gallon sale and you could pick up a 20 gal. for $20. The fish need to be treated right away or the outcome might not be to good.
