maridian fish fin issue

This is a new maridian fish i got and was wondering if anyone had an idea what may be up with his rt fin?
it looks like a chunk is missing.

was he like that when you got him or was it after adding in your tank .
either way most likely was picked on would be my best bet

It is hard to see, but could be from anything from aggression, scrapped on rock while trying to hide, or some sort of disease.
If it worsens you will need to treat in a hospital tank.

just remember mandarins are scaleless fish so avoid copper at all costs

Looks like a bite mark on fin but I also see lots of white spots on it??

What other fish are in the tank? Was he in a tank with other mandarins before you got him? Is it healing yet?

was thinking same thing till looked closer looks like sand partials
