Mushroom wounded

So yesterday I tried a freshwater dip on my combo rock(zoas and red/purple shrooms) , but here's the oops, I didn't bring the temp of the ro water up to tank temp. My zoas are ok but my shrooms were putting off a stringy discharge after I put them back in dt. Now I don't know if I murdered them. Any knowledgable input would be appreciated! Here is a pic of my piece.

Do you know what the stringy discharge was ?

when they are irritated they excrete a slim it's like a defense mechanism a lot of corals will do it some more than others
