Changing the water won't effect your bacteria colonies. Wiping down the walls and changing your filter does though. Very little bacteria is in the water.

Sorry to hear about your gramma They are lovely fish. Hope she recovers!

Garlic soaked food encourages fish too feed also can act as a dewormer you don't want gramma to stop eating

You could press your own garlic, but there are commercial preparations like Garlic Xtreme or Garlic Guard that are probably better. Use either vey sparingly.

I have the heat at 81 and the air stone going.

Ill test readings later and if perfect do a water change.
You should bring the heat down to 77-79, as 81 is closer to the top. You probably increased heat to speed up the Ich cycle. That's more of a FW than SW thing. It doesn't help all that much.

You do water changes when your readings are NOT perfect to get them closer to perfect...

Well slowly getting SG back up. The Clarkii and the Scooter are doing great.

Im hoping the hawkfish doesn't snap at these guys. When i introduced the peppermint shrimp he went after a few of them. I believe ill feed the hawk prior to introducing them.
