Hi guys!

I just bought a rock with plenty of orangey mushroom.

After I placed in my tank, not one but almost all the mushroom mouth has some of white curling thing onzing out from it.

are these parasite? or their "intestine"

When i touch the white curling thing, it didn't move

Thanks!!

Here is the pic! Someone has told me they are "intestine" :D thanks

They are called mesenterial filaments. Commonly they are used as a means of feeding/defense but can also show up when the coral is stressed. If newly aquired, it could be a stress reaction. Test all you water specs to be sure everything is in order, possibley a few water changes to be safe, add some carbon to remove any chemical remnants and be sure it/they are not too close to another coral species.

Cheers
Steve

i think they were extremely stressed up when i frag the big rock by hacking with a hammer!

They are okie now! thanks!
