sea star leg missing!

Today when i was taking my head count i noticed that my Fancy tiger striped serpent sea star didn't have one of it's legs! i have found no reason why or how. all my parameter are fine. Anyone got some suggestion of what could have happened?

I'm not sure what could have done that if your param.'s are good. What kinda fish do you have? Don't worry the leg will grow back.

i think i have found out how it happened when i got up this morning before going to church, i found the whole star in the powerhead, i guess it answer my question.
