something on my dead hammer coral?

hi everybody. does anybody want to help my figure out what these little stick-looking things are that are on my dead hammer coral? maybe a type of worm or something? they are about a cm big... my hammer coral has been dead for a couple of weeks and im not sure if i should take out the coral and throw it away... thanks

They are worms. Harmless filter feeders. They spit out a string, let it float, catch food, then suck it back in. Quite neat little animals that cost nothing to have. :)

I'd leave the hammer in and let them take over it,
Regeneration and all that. :)
