something on my dead hammer coral?

hi everybody. does anybody want to help my figure out what these little stick-looking things are that are on my dead hammer coral? maybe a type of worm or something? they are about a cm big... my hammer coral has been dead for a couple of weeks and im not sure if i should take out the coral and throw it away... thanks

They are worms. Harmless filter feeders. They spit out a string, let it float, catch food, then suck it back in. Quite neat little animals that cost nothing to have.

I'd leave the hammer in and let them take over it,
Regeneration and all that.
