temp questions

Hi

Dumb question...but is 82 too hot?? I have clowns and a bunch of coral and nothing is looking good right now...perameters are fine except low calcium but I did notice my tank is warmer....is the temp my cause for trouble?

82 isn't that bad but you should try to keep it at about 78.

That could definitely be it, depending on how fast the temp change occurred. Some coral are really sensitive to even the most subtle change in parameters.

Its been very warm here in IA last couple weeks and my tank has been at 82. no one showing any stress yet. It usually hovers around 79. I have a cheap walmart fan blowing across top of tank and that helps alot- it would be about 86 without it! You could try that if you are concerned- but watch your evap rate- it will increase quite a bit!
