What's on my leather coral

I noticed this bump on my leather coral the other day. I can not tell if it is an infection or if it is new growth. Any thoughts?

Infections don't look like that. It could be new growth, though I haven't seen them spread like that. They usually split. Either way I would not worry about it.

looks like it may have tore away from rock so it can reach for the light , mine did that from time to time as it grew ,
