White stingy stuff from anal fin

Hello, my damsel has a long string of white "stuff" hanging from around his anal fin. I just noticed it last night? He is acting fine, eating well and everything. Any ideas? TIA.

What are you feeding? How long ago did you aquire the little guy?

This will be useful information to the advisors.

Also, water parameters would be helpful.

Dont know what it was, but he died on Saturday night. I am really unhappy with the livestock we've gotten from our local LFS. 3 out of 5 of the fish we bought there have died. Our water levels are fine. And we just got the QT tank set up. So we are going to try a different LFS. Thanks.
