I have another yellow tang in a second 100 Gal at my office. He appears to be losing pigment on his snout/head area. Its now a pinkish area spotted with some of his yellow. There is also a fleshy color around his rear fin area. any idea what could be causing this ? Specs and parameters are

Nitrite: 0
Nitrate 10ppm
Ammonia: 0
pH : 8.3
temp: steady 80 Deg.

Lighting on at 8am off at 5pm dual sunpaq 96w retrofits in the canopy ( 96 x 4) AquaC remora skimmer with a mag drive. Feeding mainly mysis soaked in garlic xtreame and seaweed selects nori. Sometimes a flake snack. Other tankmates are : 4 Various damsels, 2 O clowns, a flame hawk, and 5 turbos.

Hard to say but sometimes if you see some pink or red it`s hemmoraging. Could be a bacterial problem. Better let shark or steve grab this one.

someone please help. Hes starting to look worse, hardly eating, not real social and hiding alot. what the hell is wrong with it ?

Do you have a green Calerpa for him. Some seaweed or nori. They are herbivores. Soak in Garlic. Just some Quick ideas

It also sounds like a potential water problem, or even pH too low. Do you have a sealed glass lid?

Best first step in a problem like this is several large water changes with well aged/aerated SW. This in most simpler cases will help clear up the problem as will increasing the nutritional value of foods fed. If after a week or so and there is no improvement, you will need to QT the fish and start an antibiotic treatment. Start with the water changes first, if a simple problem the move to a QT will just make it worse.
