2 rams dead within hours

Both ok last night, today spotted the male laying on his side but alive, proceeded to swim around sideways and vertical... Female nowhere to be seen....
Couple of hours later have found dead female & male not far away but still breathing although virtually dead
All my other fish are ok

How long have you had the tank? How did you add the rams to the tank? Are they German blues or bolivians?

Hi, they have been in the tanks for months! They are (were) just rams as sold by maidenhead aquatics... Used to try breeding but not for ages

I imagine its your nitrates, and/or ph.

They like a ph of 6-7 no more no less.

And where your other fish can handle a nitrate of 20-30 thirty being a pretty ignorant fish keeper

Rams would be pushing it at 20.
