Hi, I have a spot of yellow algae growing in an area of my tank. I dont know how to deal with this thing. Could it be the aquarium light causing this problem? Theres no sunlight coming in on the tank either......
Somebody please help me!!!! Thanks.....

How long do you leave the lights on? Also how much are you feeding your fish? Both of those can cause algae to grow.

Algae troubke

Hi, Thanks for ur reply. i keep the lights on 24hrs......feed twice a day......i have 4 male fancy guppies......

That’s definitely your problem.

Remove as much algae as you can manually then start to feed once a day and cut back light to 8 hrs. If you work or go to school and want to view more when you’re home it’s fine to split the hours between early morning have it dark while you’re away and then on again for a few hours at night.

Thanks for ur reply pal. I shall keep the lights on approximately 8 hrs. 1 time feed......lets see if theres any improvement on the algae front.....
