Somethings wrong with my snail, any ideas anyone? It's hardly moved since this morning. It was fine last night :-( the black appeared overnight.

Did you smell it? If it doesn't stink then it's alive. As mine have gotten older their color has darkened in some places. How old is he?

He's alive, I moved him and touched fleshy bit further up, the black bit looked hard, I know what it is now, he wasn't impressed with being moved and buggered off with shell on his back
I'm assuming that's what everyone calls their 'door'. Don't know how old he is, came with the tank. It's happily climbing up glass now. Feel a bit of a twonk.
