I have a gold apple snail and he got stuck to my intake and looked bad I had no idea how long he was there but for a few days he moved around on the glass looking normal and perfectly fine today he is floating around but this happened before anyway how can I tell if he is dead?

Apple snails do that sometimes. He is just hanging out in his shell. If he smells fine and has a full body mass, I wouldn't worry.

Sorry but full body mass?? Thanks for the help this far

Sorry, sick snails, IME, tend to shrink up a little. In apple snails, the foot should be level with the shell (or even a little past it) when the snail is all huddled up inside. If the foot looks like it has been sucked into the shell, the snail's body mass is down and it isn't healthy.
