Betta resting head downward

So I noticed that Magma (my betta) tends to hang out inbetween the heater and filter with his head downwards. He'll just chill out there until I can coax him to swim out. Is this normal? Thanks.

What is your temperature at? Does he have plenty of hiding spots?

My temperature is at around 78 degrees Fahrenheit. My heater is one of those non-adjustable types. He has some fake plants in one corner and a pipe cleaner cave in the middle of the tank. He also has a bunch of moss balls and an anubius congensis but they're in quarantine at the moment.
