Hi everyone. I have a blackmoor that is turning light gold in color. He shares a 49 gallon tank with another blackmoor, a gold fantail, a comet, and a calico ryukin. Water quality is good, as I do weekly large changes and vacuums. All the fish are happy, eat well, and are very active. Is this normal?

Yep, perfectly normal! He is not truebred for the black gene and I am guessing you purchased him from from a local store. He will eventually turn completetly orange (no black at all). Heres great link with some of the science behind a moor's color change and pics of what to expect.

Thanks! The other one is jet black, although he has one deflated eye from a while ago, but still perfectly happy!
