So I gave in and decided to give the pictus another try because I find them just adorable.
1~What type of fish is afflicted? In addition, please describe what is wrong with the fish to the best of your ability (i.e. cotton like growth, bloated, etc.).
Pictus catfish- belly is bloated (see pic)
2~What are your tank parameters (ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, temp, pH)? Please give exact values.
7.6, 0, 0, 15 temp is 77
3~ How large is the tank? How long has the tank been set up?
75 gallons, been cycled about 5 weeks.
4~What type of filtration are you using? Please give the name and number (i.e. Fluval 304) and amount of gph if known. Cascade 1000 Canister filter, MarineLand Penguin 350B. Canister rated for 100 gallons, HOB for 70 gallons. 5~How many fish are in the tank? What kinds of fish are they and what are their current sizes? 5 cherry barbs, 5 black skirt tetras, 1 Senegal Bichir, 1 Raphael catfish, 1 ropefish, 1 dojo loach, 1 dwarf gourami, 1 angelfish. 6~When is the last time you did a water change and vacuum the gravel? How often do you do this? How much water do you remove at a time? This past weekend. Sunday is water change day. 30-50 percent. 7~How long have you had the fish? If the fish is new, how did you acclimate it/them? Tuesday. Drip acclimation for about 30 mins. 8~Have you added anything new to the tank--decor, new dechlorinator, new substrate, etc.? New plants just a few hours ago. Jungle vals and Pennywort. 9~What kind of food have you been feeding your fish, have you changed their diet recently? Diet stays the same.
