Catfish growing fur spot?

Hello, reaching out to see if anyone can help me determine what is wrong with my new catfish. Recently I’ve noticed that it is seemingly growing a fur spot along the ladder half of its head that is rather alarming. I don’t know much about fish and was tasked to help my dad determine what is wrong. The tank is 72 gallons and sits between 78-80 degrees. The fish was recently bought and still has been acting normal, picture are attached. Any insight on diagnosis and treatment options would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like a fungal infection. Are you able to quarantine the fish?
