My Cory has these fluid filled bubbles growing out it’s skin. It is breathing heavy and not too active. I dosed my 45 gallon with aquarium salt. Hesitant to dose with antibiotics because I honestly don’t know what is happening. I scoured the internet to try to find this issue, but I could not find it. Can anyone help me?

I had a school of Cory , 4 months now. No issue until now. Since this Cory got sick (two days ago) my other Cory, who schools with this Cory, has been breathing heavy as well, swimming erratically, but no physical symptoms showing.
My levels:
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Ph 7.6
Temp 78 degrees

Water changed , once every two weeks, by the end of my two weeks, nitrates are usually at 10 and ammonia controlled from 0-.025 .

I’ll answer any other question you need.

I'm not sure, it could be Lymphocytes. If that is indeed what it is, I'm not sure if it's contagious. But it's rarely fatal. But incurable. Watch for secondary fungal and bacterial infections that like to attack weakned fish

Thank you very much for your input :)

Update: fluid filled areas getting bigger. Also one eye is bigger than the other. Cory hiding away will take picture when I spot it.

Thanks for chatting with me. I dosed my tank with “melafix” I feel more safe dosing with something natural that won’t stress out my other fish, and kill off my good bacteria. Unfortunately my hospital tank is out of commission right now because I bought a dwarf frogs, and it had cotton wool disease, so I need to disinfect it before I can use that again. I started the dose yesterday morning and I dosed again, the swelling went down a bit on the eye. Some of the fluid filled areas popped and left over what seems to be dry skin. No open wounds at this time that I can see.My Coreys a bit more active now. But still too soon to tell. We will see ??

Treatment: salt dose x1 , melafix dose x2 .
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0

Cory got worse. Fin is rotting away it seems. Blisters smaller.
My other Cory, who was acting erratically, had a wound on its head.

Anyway .. I sanitized my hospital tank and I now that both in there. I started my first dose of Neoplex. And I also added aquarium salt.

I’m still going to treat Main tank with melafix and primafix.

Not sure what else I can do, or why I can do differently.

:(

Yeah, it's bacterial then if the fins are deteriorating. Are you adding the Neoplex to the food? The salt will help alot too. Your on the best path for treatment

Thank you for responding :)
I started adding the neoplex into the food two days ago, I was originally adding it to the water but I did not see much of a difference, I was mostly going by their behavior since physical symptoms would take longer to show improvement. I mix the neoplex with some garlic guard Into a sinking pallet and freeze it For the next day.So far I’ve been having success with my Corey eating the food.
.But still skin looks very pale. The tail is growing back though, which is good.

I was thinking about adding paraguard to the water, As I was reading that Coreys are easily susceptible to parasitic diseases. Also, my Cory had a wound on his head, but that’s healed now.

My hospital tank water levels have been good. My ammonia today was 0.25 and I did a 25% water change, Plus added some Destress to dechlorinate the new water and remove the rest of the ammonia that was lingering.

Sounds like you've got a good handle on it, great job! The medicated food will work tons better, and much cheaper, than putting it in the water. For bacterial anyway. He'll be good soon !
