Hi All,

New here. I added a new Cory 2 days ago to my 280 liter / 70 Gallon tank.

It's joined my 3 other Cory's and 6 Otos in the tank now.

i understand Cory's are not supposed to make bubble nests but this one appears to spend a lot of its time on the surface blowing bubbles. It appears healthy otherwise. Eats well and loves to play near the filter return current.

Has anyone seen this behavior in a Cory before?

Here's a video I made. https://streamable.com/zd1uk8

Playing in water flow yes, staying at the top, no.

Is there good oxygen moving around in there?

They do not make bubble nest as you thought. They lay eggs on plants, glass, rocks.

What are your tank parameters?

Ammonia
Nitrite and
Nitrate

PH

Temperature ?

I think you were right with the oxygen flow. I had installed my spray bar vertically because it was disturbing my frogbit. This left the tank without any surface agintation. Although it really helped move the tank water around at the bottom and clean my substrate.

I've mounted it horizontally again and the Cory has not displayed this behaviuor since then.

Thanks!
