Dead fish?

This morning I woke up to notice one of my cichlids are dead and parts of him have been eatin. Does this mean my fish arnt getting enough food?

It doesn't mean your fish aren't getting enough food. Cichlids are just pigs and love to eat
 
Fish will consume a dead or dying fish partly to keep the bacteria level safe in their tank. Some fish naturally are drawn to a live/fresh protein source. It has no reference to how much you feed them.
 
Why do u think this fish died? The ammonia level was high but I I put ammo lock in there and ammo is pellets in the filter. Idk! I'm new at this

Why is your ammonia level high?

Is this a new tank?

Do you know about the nitrogen cycle?

What is your maintenance schedule?

As requested, what are your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?
