I lost a peacock cichlid last night after she sustained an injury which became infected with cottony like fungus very quickly.

She was in a QT tank and I had added Wardley Promethyasul but it was too late.

How should I now go about getting the medication out of the QT tank? Will 100% water change be enough? Or should I continue doing water changes for a while? I have a female holding and was hoping to put her in this tank in the next week or so.

Also, do I need to disinfect my gravel vacuum after doing this, and my net? What about decor?

Thanks!! :)

Ok thanks. But what about the decor/nets etc. Can they be disinfected? Is fungus contagious? Am I putting my holding female at risk putting her in this tank after a death?

If you treated the tank for fungus then you should be fine. I would still take the decors out and give them a good scrub just so its a nice clean tank for the next fish
