Dojo Loach - Ich not falling off

Hello everyone,

I have 3 dojo loaches in my QT tank and one them is infected with Ich heavily, i've been treating the tank now close to 2 weeks with Ich X, temperature is at 79. Somehow this ich is not falling off the dojos body, i dont know if this ich is resistant to the heat and meds. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, there,

79 degrees is not a high enough temperature to kill ich; it will actually make things worse by speeding up the life cycle of the parasite. Care of ich in loaches is a little complicated given that they don't tolerate salt, and you have to be very careful with temperatures. You might try this guide from a forum specializing in loaches:
