Dosing melafix

Hey I have a black neon tetra that got its tail bit off not to long ago. It's already starting to grow back but very very slowly he's currently in a breeding net inside the tank. I'm going to treat him with Melafix. So my question is should I treat the whole tank or put them in a 5 gallon quarantine tank and treat him there?

Treat him in the quarantine tank. Don't use a carbon filter in that tank either.

Frequent Partial water changes too in the small Q tank.
