Hello everyone.

Unfortunately I have a dwarf rainbow that seems to have white blotches on his fins. Otherwise the fish acts normal and colours are still vibrant. I have included photos. He is one of the smaller males and one of the larger males is flaring at him and circle ING. He does not reciprocate as the other males do, this has only started today .

Do you guys think this is something to be concerned about? Or is this just another weird thing that rainbows get.

Aquarium info
20 gallon heavily planted , pressurized co2 , running both an aquaclear 30 and topfin 20 . Lighting = fluvul plant led 2.0

Dosing - flourish once a week, excel semi daily ( less since going pressurized) also Iron once a.week.

Tank inhabitants

8 rainbows (4m/4f)
Sailfin pleco (for grow out)
Siamese algae eater
8 Miscellaneous Guppies and tons of fry

Thoughts?

Sometimes just natural colour, sometimes I find it to be a warning sign. I'd check nitrates, ammonia, ph. I assume not over-dosing the excel as well.

Started doing more water changes. 30% water change twice a week or as needed.

Rainbows colors seems to have gone back to normal.

Thanks for replying
