Ive got 5 neon tetras in a 6 gal tank.
One of them is acting like sad; he swims alright but keeps hiding most of the time. Like for 2 days I hadn't seen him eat and today i found him hiding below the driftwood.

Hes lost almost all his red colored stripe (turned into like brown), yet the "neon" stripe is still hanging there. (Im guessing they belong to different skin layers)

Waters perfectly fine, I have an ass kicking evaporation rate so i have to add like 1/2 gal every three days (saves water changes, I still vacuum the gravel every 1 or 2 weeks).

pH: 6,5
ites: 0.0
ates: 0.0

BTW all other NT's are eating like crazy (the five minute eating time they've got)

TIA

Pato :?:

You didn't mention ammonia level. Is that at 0 too? Those spikes are what got my first fish. :(

it sounds like for some reason your neon is stresses out. That is what mine do ( when i have them) and they are stressed out. Becareful. neon develope ich from that quite often.

fish are wonderful to have, horrible to eat
