Emergency with ulcer!!!

Hello!! Yesterday I had started a thread asking for help with my betta fish. He used to have a white spot on the side of his body that ďopened upĒ and is now a reddish spot. The reddish spot has no scales, it is kinda like itís the bettaís body itself. I have attached pictures.

Iíve been told it is either columnaris or an ulcer. After reading their descriptions, I think it might possible be an ulcer. How do I treat this, and quick? What medication can I buy? Does Melafix or Pimafix work?

Either way it's bacterial. Melafix is a mild homeopathic oil, mainly for prevention. It won't cure. It's not strong enough. Like I said before, antibiotics only will cure bacterial infections with any speed. You can also make a dip, 1 pack antibiotic powder in 2 qts water, w 2 tbl spoons of kosher or aquarium salt. Let it sit in the dip for 10 minutes once a day. Pimafix is for fungal infections, and will do even less than bettafix or Melafix for this

Api fin and body cure is a general purpose gram negative antibiotic that works pretty well. Furan-2 is a sulpha drug that will kill bacteria in the water column that you can add to the tank
