First Fish Death :(

Upon feeding time for the fish this morning, a nasty site me eyes - one of the platys lying nearly face down in one of the plants.
A mixed feeling of 'why' and 'how' is what I'm currently thinking.
Very disappointed, to say the least.

I could buy another one tomorrow, but this won't solve why it died.
Could it of been another fish maybe - the mischeivous clown loach perhaps ?
This was definitely an overnight death. The only other thing I can think of, is when I added some AmmoLock2 last night, that platy swam straight into the cloud, probably thinking it was food.

Please help, as I'm quite pi**ed off now.

Cheers Peeps.

Dont get to worked up. Things like this happen. If there is no real sign of damage on the outside then it could have just been "its time".

I doubt its was your amino-lock that did it but I like to add stuff like that in a high flow area of the tank. Usually just infront of a filter outlet. This will difuse it faster into the tank.

I'm just a little bit angry as I'm clueless as to how & why, but I guess its going to be one of those things that goes un-answered.
I'll keep my head up and learn from it ... best thing to do I spose.

Hi,many thanks for the suggestions on the black moor front, hes much less hungry now! Just to say dont worry too much about the dead platy,if you can't find any thing wrong with the tank or fish it's probably just 'one of those things'. This black moor was not my first, his predecessor was called jurassic (hence the username)and i was upset at his death, but i kept on going. Just think of all the other happy, healthy fish still left for you to enjoy.

You're right, I'm just worried about my Gold Gourami now, he is defintely the cause of my new platy's death.
Will be posting more details in general discussion.
