So as I was doing my pwc's yesterday and trimming my plants, I noticed I have 2 lemon tetras that are breathing heavily and missing their under fin and the tips of their tall fins, one is always hiding the other one doesn't hide he just hangs out, I do not know what's causing this as my water is always right in point as per parameters are concerned, always.
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
7.4-7.5 pH (can't decipher the blue gonna get a ph digital pen)
Nitrites 25-30 (again hard to tell the difference as almost the exact shade of colors on the card)

Tank is a 55 gallon (upgrading to a 90 next month)
Stock is as follows
6 ornate tetras
7 lemon tetras
1 long fin calico bn
2 boseman rainbows
2 emerald rainbows
2 irian red rainbows
1 turquoise
(before someone says that my rainbows are stocked wrong please don't as you don't have to have 5 of the same species, you can intermix to make a school of 5+)
3 juvenile clown loaches
I will attach pics where i held the tubes up to a lighted area and took the best possible pic as well as the 2 fish

Pic 1 in nitrite, 2 ammonia, 3 pH, 4 nitrate pics are darker than they are actually in person pretty silly as expensive as my phone is i can't get a good picture of a color liquid lol

Pic 5 is the guy that hangs out that's pretty tore up 6 is the one that hides

I don't think it's fin and real rot as no other fish has it only those 2, my ornate fins are absolutely stunning as well as all the other fish

Thinking I have a fish eating their fins but I've not saw it.

No I had to euthanize the female she was stunted aka dwarfism, but my roommate got me 2 neon Dwarf rainbows cause I was bummed out but in a way I wish she didn't because I needed to replace the 2 I lost, one from a bully the other from a defect so I can make my school back to 7 unless the 2 neon dwarfs will fill those spots.

Potluck, you got a really nice looking well kept tank.
I've kept about every type of fish you listed at some point, except the clown loaches.
They are all low bio load fish. Considering your aquarium skills, you wouldn't have any trouble adding a few more tetras or rainbow fish.

Tyvm, Its only a 55 gallon I would need a 90 to add more, at least a 100 gallon to keep the loaches which is a bummer because I really love their personalities but with them getting so big you have to have a big tank, rainbows get pretty big as well 5-6" and full bodies so you need room for those as well because they are very active swimmers.

Sounds like you will have to do what I did. Wait until black Friday and buy petsmart's marineland 120 gal. & stand for $300. Upgraded from my 65 gallon.
Still think you could add a few more small fish and nurse things along until you get your inevitable big tank upgrade.
I've probably got 40 fish in my 120 and some of them are pretty big. Most have been in the tank close to 8 months; no problems yet with the over stocking. I had to overstock due to cichlid aggression issues.
I managed to post pictures of my 120 and 65 tanks on the introduction for new members site if you are interested.
