What is the best way to euthanise a fish in Quarantine that is severly infected and in pain ? Thanks.

Get a bowl and fill it with cold water. Then get some ice cubes and put in the bowl aswell. Let this chill for 30min or so. Then take the fish out of the tank and place in the ice cold water.

Fish are cold blooded so the water will shut their body down very quickly. The fish should be 'asleep' within seconds. Once this occurs you can take the fish out.

There are an awful lot of ways to euthanize a fish. From what I have read (not having had to do this yet) the clove oil/vodka method is the most humane, followed by ice water and believe it or not, decapitation. Freezing nd flushing are definitely not recommended.
