I got a sunset dwarf gourami and it was a good orange color when I purchased it, it has since turned a brown color. Any clues as to what it might be? Diet: bloodworms, occasional flake, sinking pellets.

Also could anyone tell me if its a male or female? Strikes me as a female but they said at the LFS it was a male... But Idk how much I trust them. They aren't my favorite LFS.

Can't really tell from the pictures, they're blurry. The way you can tell genders is by the top fin. If the top fin is pointed on the end, it's a male. If it's rounded, it's a female. If it's a female, that might have to do with the color. Females are sometimes more dull.

I think he's a boy then! Awesome thanks for the pictures! I can stop referring to him as an "it"

Colour loss can be sign of stress. These fish like quiet water, lots of plants both floating and planted, places to hide. They are not the easiest fish to keep either. They have a sad tendency to quite suddenly fail and die. Hope yours is well and does fine, but make sure he has plenty of hiding spots and very little current in the water.
They also do not do well with pushy tank mates, such as fast swimming danios or tiger barbs that may harass them and nip fins.
