Hi everyone! I have a beta in a community tank… I’ve had this tank set up with the current fish for almost a year now. The tank is 12 gallons. I think my betta has fin rot and was hoping for some help with what to use - Bettafix or Melafix. And can I add it to the tank where the betta lives with the 2 guppies and snail? Should I remove the charcoal filter to do so? Thank you in advance for your help!

Welcome to the forum!
Melafix and bettafix (a more diluted version of melafix) can be dangerous for bettas. Before resorting to meds, just keep the water very very clean. You can also add an Indian almond leaf to the water.

Thank you! Where can I buy the Indian almond leaf?

As mentioned melafix and bettafix are not a good idea with bettas because the oil in them can damage their labarynth organ. Clean warm water, Indian almond leaves (tannins) and aquarium salt baths has always worked well for me in dealing with things such as fin rot.
