My gourami was doing fine yesterday but now he is breathing really heavy and when ever I try to catch him he spins around like crazy:confused: I put some aquarium salt in there incase it is a disease. I there any thing else I can do?
Thanks

I wouldn't have added the salt.

Test your water parameters: pH, ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte and let us know what you got. Also check the temperature in the tank as well.

I wish I could help. I can tell you I found mine laying on the bottom and I thought he was dead, but he sprang back. Go figure. Keep feeding him and keep a close eye. Let him calm down. Fish really get stressed out trying to net them. Put some slime aide in the water,. They seem to have a weakness to losing their slime coat. Hope this helps.

Well amazingly he is doing better then ever I think he is going to make it!:)
And what is really amazing that i didn't mention is that we took the fish out of the tank because he actually looked like he was dead and wasn't breathing and he was out for more than ten minutes without water and then when i was about to bury him for fertilizer when i noticed he was still breathing. So i ran down stairs and stuck him in my 10 gallon and i originally made this thread before i took him out. So I guess he is a miracle fish. lol
