It should work and he should be fine. Make sure you follow the directions to a T, but only use 1/2 doses. I did a 50% pwc every day before dosing, and then put the correct amount of drops in.

Is it possible this fish was in a "betta bowl"? If so he could have been cramped and that's why he was curved. At least from what I can see in the photo. Be careful with your dosing most dosing takes into account large tanks, but I didn't read the whole post so I don't know what med was suggested. They have a wide ranges of meds for that stuff. I hate ich.

He isn't in a 'bowl' he is in a 1 gallon sortta heaxagonish tank. Its only a q -tank. Not his permanent home so he isn't going to be abused. Its not that small either. He has space. He was curved when he was in his cup and when he has his swimbladder problem.

Ok, use the meds from him, but only half doses. Do you know which med he has?

What I meant was, when he was in the pet store, was he in a betta bowl. What you have him in now should work.

I'm starting to think he should go back to the store again. :C I am going to be getting meds... but he just seems to sick in so many ways.

His swimbladder is still swollen... his back still sometimes goes into that strange 's' shape... He is breathing hard and has ick too. He still is eating but he isn't blowing bubbles or swimming around at all. I fear he may have an infection too. I don't have the stuff to treat him either. I think I should return him but I really don't want to. :C

I don't have the proper things to treat him... Like a heater for his tank in specific and when he has gotten sick so many times already... it makes me nervous to put him in with my betta who is perfectly healthy... I don't know what to do. I just feel like this betta is going to die.

Well if you keep thinking that way he will. Part of keeping fish is nursing him back to health. Where ever he was before, he wasn't taken care of very well. That is why he is so sick. He needs you to nurse him back to health. If he dies, at least he will die in a tank and not in a cup all alone. And at least you gave him a little bit of a decent life (I don't know how long you have had him for, I am guessing about a week?)

Like I said before, part of the hobby is taking care of your fish when they get sick. I also suggest getting a heater because bettas need warm water, 80*ish. that may be part of the reason he keeps getting sick. Stress makes fish more immune to disease.

I have a heater but I also dont' want to go out an buy another one for a temporary tank. Y'know. My mom is already pissed at me for what I have for my other betta. If I go buy more stuff she is gonna kill me. :C I will take care of a sick fish... but I don't have any of the stuff needed to take care of this one.

And if he does die than I am out a ton of money. I don't get much money cause I don't have a job. I work off of art commissions and thats it. Which isn't much. If I do treat him and loose him than I am out lets see 15 for the heater - 8 for the fish and I would need a bigger tank for the heater 15 more... and another 5 if I need anti-bacterial remedie too. So than I am out 43 bucks. :C I don't have much as is. If Rouge got sick it would be I would go buy meds. Thats it.

Well I know this site is great, and hopefully with help from here you will be able to find cheap effective ways to treat the little guy.

I understand the mom being mad, I live on my own but I have heard it a few times about, jeez how many tanks do you have now? lol. I am slowly learning to start getting things little by little. Unfortunately you are kind of in a bind because you need those things asap.

What happened to the guy that had the meds for you?

Well I can get the meds - I am. I just don't have a heater or anything to fry the darn ick off with. I also want him better before the reciept goes bad incase he does die. So I just reallt don't know what to do. I have been having bad luck like this for months. I was so excited when he was acting all normal and blowing nests and coming over to see me... now he just lays there... he doesn't even show interest in much but his food.
