Help! Is my fish sick or hurt?

The past two days my turquoise jewel cichlid has been hiding and has gotten darker and darker each day. The first dark fish is him and the second pic is another fish in the tank that is similar to what he looked like before. I also have noticed the lighter one has been chasing the dark one. Do you think he’s sick or hurt by the more aggressive cichlid

It could be breeding behavior or aggression. Depends on the sex of each.
I am not sure how to sex Jewels so?
They do both look to have nipped fins which I don't usually see when breeding my fish [not jewels ].

Check your water might be fin rot. Maybe something in the tank making them sick.
