Hospital tank

I've got a 10gal tank that I'm hoping to use as a hospital tank for my 70gal...

I've got a Fluval 2 plus internal filter for it, some black card to put underneath and on the back/sides (so it's dark/relaxing for the fish), and 3 large PVC pipes for bacteria/hiding places.

I plan to be able to set the tank up in 10 mins in an "emergency", by keeping the 2 foam filter pads in my main tank until they're needed.

Do you guys think this would be ok?

Keeping the foam filter pads in the main tank until needed makes sense. I'm not familiar with the particular filter you are going to use, but if it has activated carbon you want to remove the carbon because it can reduce or eliminate the effectiveness of many medications.
