I dont know what wrong!

I woke up this morning to see my siamese fighter fish lying on the bottom of the tank dying. I quickly test the water to see did I get an ammonia spike or something. I use the api test kit. I have
0 ammonia
0 nitrites
And apparently 0 nitrates???
Is that weird? Could it be something got to do with that why my fish is dying??

0 nitrates is a little odd. Just to check, have you followed directions exactly on the liquid test kit?

Otherwise it seems good. Any changes you have made to the tank or anything that has changed around this time?

I'd try a partial water change now and see if that perks him up.
