The three remaining bettas in the 10G came down with ich. I treated them with salt, and have now also raised the temperature.

Thursday: 1/2 of Salt (7.6 gr / gallon - 5 tbs in total for a 10G)
Friday: remainder of salt, start raising temp
Saturday: temp finally up to 86 F
Sunday: no signs of ich spots
Monday: today - still in salt and heat

I got 2 Eclipse 3 systems for my birthday from my husband :) I'm going to be moving 2 of the guys into these. The third one will go into the 2.5G that I have. The 10G will be converted into a planted tank for momma platy and her female offspring.

Question: how long do I continue treatment since I"ve used both salt and temp ? I'll be cycling the new tanks with decor from the 10G and want to make sure that all the ick is dead first. Also, should I start reducing the salt now ??

With the high temp, the ich cycle is completed sooner (about 1 week). I've read that stopping treatment after 1 week is fine in this case. However, the traditionalist would still insist on a 2 week treatment. You would be taking a bit of a chace if you stop early.
