Ich/Swim Bladder disease...would appreciate a fast reply!!

I have just used a swim bladder treatment on my fish tank because on of the fish is spiralling...I have now discovered we have Ich...Next course of action advice please!!

How long has your fish been "spiraling"? When was the last dose of meds, did it help the fish? What are your water parameters?

Once a fish is spiraling it is probably too far gone to help and a risk to other fish. Removed the looper and use the heat and salt treatment for the ich.

It started spiraling this morning, I medicated this afternoon it has had no effect so far, my water parameters were normal 3 days ago it is now 7:50pm in scotland

what exactly is the heat and salt treatment? I'm a newby. The fish is perfectly healthy other than the spiraling and the ich...still eating and bright eyed

Medications are not fast acting so it wouldn't help anything yet. If he just started, give him a stay of execution. The heat and salt treatment is in the articles section. It is by far the best treatment for ich. Basically you add some salt and crank the temperature up to 86-87 F and the ich just dies. Check out the article.

I have a planted tank and so cannot raise aquarium salt to those levels...is raising the temperature enough?

I think some people have had success with just raising the heat, but I would use and ich med if you cant use the salt.
