Hi. I have a 20 gallon fish tank that I started about a month ago. There are some guppies and rosy minnows in the tank just to get it started up. Yesterday I noticed some white spots on a fish and treated the tank for ick. Overnight that one fish had a lot more spots and only one fish had one spot. I did a water change this morning, focusing on the sand a lot and then added some more of the ick stuff. One fish died probably just from the ick treatment but a lot more fish are starting to have spots appear. However, some of them have brown spots so I am confused. Is this ick or something else?

raise the temp 2 degrees a day, until its 82-86 depeneding on what your fish can tolerate, add aquarium salt (research how to do this properly) all of this in addition to your Ich medication will surely knock the ich out. For the fish that are in really bad condition, give them salt bath treatments (also research on how to do this properly)

The real problem here is that your fish are unhealthy because your tank is only 1 month old and its is not cycled, there for your fish are probably struggling with Ammonia and became susceptible to Ich... once your tank is cycled, it will get better, i hope the rest of your buddies make it that far, also adding live plants will help keep the water in good condition for your fish, keeping plants is not difficult either
