Injured vampire Pleco

After 5 years with no problems I thought my turtle didn't care about the Pleco but today he decided to take a bite out of him. The Pleco was bit on the lip of its sucker and its fins look a bit tattered as well but I know from experience that can be a result of stress. I separated the Pleco and its now resting (alive) in a 5 gallon bucket. I'm wondering if I should keep him in the bucket for a few days or put him in with my other fish. Any advice is useful, thanks

If the bucket has good water and is easy to maintain, I'd keep him separate but just my preference.
