I have a female cichlid that is very very thin, now the strange thing is she still eats. I've QT'd her for fear that it is internal parasites and do not want to infect the tank. She has no other physical signs whatsoever. She swims and eats. Her midsection is very thin. I've tried to get pics but so far they haven't turned out. Now that she is in QT maybe I'll have more success. My question is should I try treating with medicated foods? I suppose it can't hurt. I've done all sorts of reading and all I can guess at is that it is internal parasites.

Not the best pic's but you can sort of see how concave her midsection is.

Sounds like a good course of action to me. The reason she still eats is because the parasites are likely consuming everything that she takes in. If the medicated foods do not work, find some metronidazole medication.
