I have a female guppy who I just happened to be looking at when I saw her release this black colored liquid out of her back end. It disappeared immediately, it just mired in with the water and was gone. She's a grey or tan guppy, Idk which is better to use to describe her. She's a more "natural" colored guppy if that makes sense. She is very pregnant, she looks as if she could drop any day now.
Does anybody know what that liquid was? Is it a bad thing, is it something going on from her being pregnant?

A lot of dietary protein causes black feces.

When my fish give birth, they spurt (sorry, don't know how else to,describe) a liquid which is pinkish before a fry comes out. It happens each time fry come out. Do you have her in a breeding bin/net? You could see if she is giving birth in shifts. I know it doesn't account for the black, but I haven't had female guppies. My male guppy sometimes poops black while all others are pooping pinkish.
